AirSXM makes inaugural flight with DCA

SCHIPHOL, Netherlands - AirSXM were finally able to generate airlift from Europe to St. Maarten, carrying 24 passengers, with the use of a DCA plane. Terrence Rey and the staff of AirSXM embarked on their inaugural flight from Holland to St. Maarten via Curacao on Sunday.

The airline has been plagued by disappointments and setbacks since April of this year. However, these setbacks were not sufficient to stop the determined Mr. Rey from achieving his goal.

"I'm happy we can make this flight today," Terrance stated, "but not completely. I'll feel much better when we land on St. Maarten with our own aircraft." He further explained that AirSXM had to call on DCA as a last resort, to be able to make its inaugural flight. Negotiations with Air Holland fell through after they couldn't confirm that all the necessary documents were in place to be able to make the trans-atlantic flight to the Netherlands Antilles.

Terrence Rey and Maynen Lucio of AirSXM proudly prepare for inaugural flight.

Management of AirSXM will meet with the management of DCA on Curacao to further discuss the issues they face. They will also meet with the Tourism office on St. Maarten. AirSXM made its return flight to Holland on Monday, with a stop over in Curacao. The flight will arrive at Schiphol on Tuesday morning.
